The Upper Colorado Env. Plant Center

The Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center is a research center for the US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service located near Meeker, CO. The Center is working on projects that help stabilize mine spoils and roadsides, improve grazing lands in the cold desert, restore riparian zones, and improve water quality on agricultural and industrial lands.

The Upper Colorado Environmental Plant Center currently houses foundation fields for the increase of seed collected from several of the Native Plant Program’s plants.  Studies on Spacing and Irrigation are also underway at the research center.
