Step 5: Seed Collection Information

At each collection site, a Species Collection Card is filled out listing all pertinent information such as date, location, GPS coordinates, elevation, distribution, description of each population, plant growth attributes, seed and flower characteristics, associated plants found in the area and amount collected.  Soil samples are also taken at several locations.  A representative close-up and landscape photo are taken of each species.  The GPS coordinates are put into map software to create maps of all collection sites.
