We are pleased to inaugurate the first 5 stops of the UP Spring Creek/Dry Creek Interpretive Drive.  UP kindly invites you to visit and become more familiar with the Uncompahgre Plateau and learn about its unique environments and ecological wealth. Following this drive, you will gain information regarding the challenges and opportunities land users and managers face, the result of a variety of land management practices and tools, and grow your appreciation of the intricacies of the natural processes and life in this area.

As vegetation and habitat treatments and on going management continue to occur along this drive, and as special demonstration sites are developed, its interest and educational value will continue to expand.

Stops are marked with a sign on steel posts on either side of the road depending on the stop. This signs are temporary as we work on a comprehensive, state of the art Interpretive Drive to be established in 2005.

Interpretive Brochures are available at the front desk of the Public Lands Office and the CDOW offices on South Townsend Ave. in Montrose. You can also print a brochure from this web site (see below). Please follow directions in the brochure to the site. All of the stops on the tour are located between the end of the pavement and the East Fork of Dry Creek (the first big canyon). You should be able to complete this tour in a couple of hours.

We ask you to take your time and respectfully enjoy this magnificent drive!!
